GUARDIANS OF GAIA · LESSON 2
Copper, measured by hand.
Every Tensor Tool begins as a measured length of bare copper wire. Follow one piece from length to finished form.
01 / MEASURE
It starts with a length.
In the Tensor Ring tradition, each piece begins with a precisely measured length of wire, often called a cubit or a fraction of a cubit. That length is the starting point for everything that follows.
The tradition’s defining feature is a deliberately measured, closed copper loop.

Twisted lengths, and the rings they become.
02 / TWIST
Single or double.
Switch between the two constructions to see how the strands come together.
Single twist: one length of copper is folded and twisted into a two-strand form.

03 / FORM, JOIN AND FINISH
From length to loop.
01
Form
The twisted length is shaped into the chosen ring, coil or spiral geometry.
02
Join
Closed rings are joined into a continuous loop.
03
Clean and polish
Each piece is cleaned, rinsed and polished by hand before it leaves the studio.
04 / PATINA
Copper that changes with you.
The copper is bare and uncoated, so it naturally develops a patina with wear. Over time, each finish becomes unique to its owner.
Because every piece is made one at a time, slight variation in twist, patina and joint finish is part of its handmade character.
